International Hospitality Solutions, inc (IHS) is a private company located in Tokyo, Japan. Following the footsteps of its older sibling Global Hospitality Solutions, inc. in Canada, IHS is the brain child of Denis Catroun, a longtime hotel and restaurant professional, as well as an educator and trainer.

Denis is a Ritz Carlton alumnus. He has also taught extensively at Capilano University and Vancouver Premier College of Hotel Management where he was a program manager in the former and head instructor in the latter. His background in consulting and training is extensive.

IHS is also a representative of the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) in Japan. We are very proud of this partnership, a first in the land of the rising sun.

Denis came to Japan in 2006 for the first time, simply as a visitor and fell in love with this amazing country. After a few successive visits, he attempted the big move and left rainy and beautiful Vancouver and set up in magnificent Tokyo.

He started several companies and got involved in private teaching and training, coaching and mentoring and indulged in one of his passions, cooking! Denis was owner of Spice Plus Cooking studio, a unique cooking school in Nakameguro which has received many accolades and was featured on the Front page of the Nikkei Shimbum.

Spice Plus concept was very simple. We wanted to form a community of food and wine lovers, use the freshest and purest ingredients in as much dishes as possible, promote local farmers and growers and avoid the use of chemicals in food. It was also an opportunity for the participants to practice their ENGLISH.

Denis has handpicked and selected his team. They are all like minded individuals who strive to help you achieve your full potential. They all have knowledge, experience and the right attitude to inspire and guide those who are wiling to learn.

The years leading to the 2020 Olympics will be exciting, tumultuous, sometimes frustrating but never boring. Denis brings his Athens 2004, Beijing 2008 and Vancouver Whistler 2010 Olympic experience to Tokyo.

In 2020, Tokyo will be hosting the world. It will be a huge party. Let us be the best hosts that we can be. Let us show the world what Japan can do.

Let the Games begin!
